Safe Cleaning
Principles, safeguards, and step-by-step procedures for cleaning disk space without risking system stability or personal file loss.
The ClearKun Safety Philosophy
Many cleaning tools act as a "black box" — you click one button, and files disappear without you knowing what was removed.
ClearKun is designed around Verified Transparency:
- Clear Explanations: Every category explains what it contains and why it is safe to clean.
- Selective Control: You can uncheck individual items or entire categories before proceeding.
- Safety Boundaries: Protected Windows operating system files and active user documents cannot be selected for deletion.
- Recycle Bin Rollback: Deleted items are routed to the Windows Recycle Bin by default.
What is Considered "Safe to Clean"?
Items categorized under Tier 1 (Safe to Clean) meet the following criteria:
- Regenerable: The application or operating system can automatically recreate the file if needed.
- Non-Essential: Removing the file does not alter personal data, saved games, application credentials, or system boot files.
- Stale/Expired: The file has not been accessed recently and was created by completed installations or temporary tasks.
3-Step Safe Cleaning Workflow

Step 1: Select Categories
In the Safe Cleaning module, review the pre-selected categories:
- Windows Temp & User Temp
- Web Browser Cache (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave)
- Windows Error Dumps & Diagnostic Logs
- Delivery Optimization Files
- Previous Windows Installation Leftovers
Step 2: Review Specific Files
Click on any category to view individual file paths, sizes, and timestamps. If you recognize a file you wish to keep, simply uncheck it.
Step 3: Confirm & Clean
Click Clean Selected. ClearKun displays a final confirmation modal showing the total bytes to be recovered. Once confirmed, ClearKun performs safe removal and updates your live drive capacity.
