ClearKun Not Starting

Issue 1: Windows SmartScreen "Windows protected your PC"

Cause

When a new software version is released, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may display an unknown publisher notification until reputation builds.

Solution

1. In the SmartScreen dialog, click More info.
2. Click Run anyway.
3. ClearKun is digitally signed with an Authenticode certificate and contains zero malware.

Issue 2: Application Crashes on Launch (Missing DLLs)

Cause

ClearKun relies on the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable runtime.

Solution

1. Download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) from Microsoft's official download page.
2. Install the package and restart your computer.
3. Launch ClearKun again.

Issue 3: Antivirus False Positive

Cause

Certain third-party antivirus suites flag low-level disk inspection tools because ClearKun uses raw Win32 directory traversal APIs.

Solution

1. Add C:\Program Files\ClearKun\ClearKun.exe (or %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\ClearKun) to your antivirus exclusion/allowlist.
2. If blocked, submit the file to your antivirus vendor for false positive analysis.
